Therapies
There are different types of therapy approaches that may be helpful for you. As a clinical psychologist, I have had training in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies which I hope to draw on and integrate to support you with your goals. In our initial appointments, through a shared understanding of your difficulties and experiences, we would agree on a treatment plan together. This may draw on any of the following therapies:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT considers how difficulties are often maintained by unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. This therapy looks at supporting you to reframe thought patterns and to develop more adaptive behavioural habits.
Compassion Focused Therapy
This therapy is helpful for individuals who struggle with a critical and harsh inner voice. This can often be associated with feelings of shame. This approach helps you to learn to relate to yourself with warmth (as opposed to harsh judgement) by building up your soothe strategies in order to manage struggles.
Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy
This approach aims to support individuals to process traumatic or distressing memories that feel "stuck" or overwhelming. This therapy can also be effective in treating a range of difficulties such as, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder or depression.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
This therapy aims to support individuals to change their relationship with their thoughts and feelings by making space for uncomfortable feelings, taking action guided by values and being able to stay present and disentangle oneself from thoughts.
